Joyce Meyer once said, â€Å"We don t grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges.† I grew up in a small town called Hope Bay in Portland, Jamaica. Life was never easy when I was a child, and I was never told to expect anything big in life. No one around me ever mentioned anything about college. College was just seen as one of those places for smart rich people, and I was told I did not fall into either category. My mother migrated to England when I was eight years old, and I had to live with Paulet my cousin, who was also my guardian. I grew up moving from one home to another, escaping the danger of a sexual immoral man, to being accepted in college and walking with God. To begin, four months after my mom migrated, she stopped paying my tuition, so I stopped from school. When I became eleven years old, my mom sister Kadian came and took me to Kingston to live with my grandmother. Life was a rollercoaster; I did not have a birth certificate and I had to go back to Portland in a different guardianship. In Portland, I got into Hope Bay All Age School and was under the guardianship of Cefered and his wife Mercle. Cerefed was my granduncle, but he wanted me to lose contact with the rest of my family and I was not sure why, so I refused. My grandmother became very concerned with my guardians and I ended up living with my father’s sister name Celia, but it was rough living with her. Nevertheless, it was not clearly portrayed by the British Petroleum about the harms that is caused to the social and ecological wealth (Groot and Selto 2013). In light of the above mentioned facts taken from the case study, the objective of the report is to make the organization well acquainted about the damages it caused to the social and ecological wealth because of oil spills. Issues identified and their importance: There are three issues identified and discussed in detailed and they are as follows: Obstruction in the process of identifying the restoration expense due to the lack of dictatorial framework of the government. Oil spill impact on the entire marine ecosystem Lacking of the biodiversity and the incorporation of the ecosystem in the procedures of managing the risk of the organization. Therefore, it is liable on the part of the BHP Billiton to bear the expenses concerning the cleaning up of the water. However, the firm is not willing to disclose the damage caused to the environment and the ecosystem because of their own fault. Becker et al. (2014) stated that the damage caused to the loss of the oil spills faced with the difficulty in quantifying. In the case study presented, the organization is valuing the loss cased in terms of money and value. Moreover, this valuation also does n ot reveal the exact damage caused to the environment. The various issues faced by the organization is mainly due to the fact that there is no perfect basis of measurement for valuing the loss or the damage caused to the services and the goods due to spill. Procedure for managing the risks of BHP Billiton lacks incorporation of ecosystem: The shareholders trustworthiness of the shareholders is reflected in the ethical standard and the morale of the British Petroleum. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the organization to be liable for preserving the social and ecological wealth of the environment and ecosystem. In addition to this, the environmental reporting and the standards of accounting should be incorporated into the business activities of the corporations. This would help them in making the responsible reporting towards the stakeholders. The association among the employees, corporate system, ecosystem and environment is impended by customizing the standards of environmental accounting (Penman 2013). The preparation of the standard of the environmental accounting is regarded as a crucial factor because the operations of the various business activities has the negative impact on the environment. In order for the business to run successfully and continuously, environmental accounting standards should be incorpo rated within the reporting of the various business activities. Recommendation: It is recommended for the BHP Billiton Limited to incorporate and adopt the accounting standards in its environmental reporting. Organization also needs to revise its standards of sustainability reporting so that several measures are taken to preserve the biodiversity. Considering the oil spills, it should also take remedial measures for biodiversity protection. Conclusion: From the above detailed discussion and analysis of the oil spill damages caused by the BHP Billiton and the reportings of the accounting , it can be concluded that the organization needs to be prepared for facing and bearing the loss caused by the damages. The incidental oil spills of the organization has the negative influence on the social and ecological wealth and it has also been due to the negligence of staffs. In addition to this, it is also concluded that amount of fines paid by the firm to the government are not satisfied or compensating the loss made by the organization to the environment. Russian Revolution Power. To most people, being in complete and total control is not a vital necessity in their everyday lives. Having some influence is gladly welcomed, but having absolute power over millions and millions of people is not the top priority on their to do list. Sadly enough, there are those who believe that having authority is as essential to their lives as oxygen is to the human body. These power-crazed maniacs often rule nations and command armies, unlike your everyday Joe. Plans to take over the world are accompanied with undying persistence and determination to do anything it takes to put them into domination. The 19th century Russian Tsars would be considered the type of person that loves to have power. During what was the beginning of the Russian Revolution, nearly any measure was taken to maintain authority over the people of Russia. Alexander III became Tsar in 1881 and upheld the principles of autocracy, a government in which he ruled with absolute power. His main goal was to strengthen the autocracy, orthodoxy and nationality in Russia. To make sure his policy was enforced, any person that didnt give Alexander III total control, didnt go to the Russian Orthodox church or spoke of any country that wasnt Russia, was considered a threat to the Tsars rule. Several actions were taken to insure every man, woman, and child in Russia would follow Alexander IIIs objective of autocracy, orthodoxy and nationality. Censorship codes were placed on any published material and secret police kept careful watch on every educational facility in Russia to make sure instructors werent teaching material that was against Alexander IIIs goal. Russian became the official language of his empire and the use of any foreign tongue was forbidden. Alexander III created laws that encouraged prejudice among all minorities, especially Jews. Nicholas II, who proceeded Alexander III, also believed in the principle of autocracy but maintained control in a different way. During his rule the number of factories in Russia doubled along with the new development of the Trans-Siberian Railway. The economy grew and in the 1900s Russia became the worlds fourth-ranking producer of steel, putting power into Tsar Nicholas IIs hands. Another of the power-obsessed was a man by the name of Grigory Yefimovich Rasputin. Claiming to be a faith healer and a holy man he slithered his way into the Russian royal family hoping to gain political power. In 1915, Nicholas II had moved his World War I headquarters to the war front in Europe, and left his wife, Tsarina Alexandra in charge of governing Russia. Little did he know she was presently under the strong influence of her advisor Rasputin, the self proclaimed holy man. Alexandras son, Alexis suffered from hemophilia. Seeing his chance to gain control, Rasputin offered his healing powers to the boy, gradually easing his suffering. Believing Rasputin was a man of God, Alexandra allowed him the power to designate ministers of the government and even the head of the church.
